Mind Control Cult Newsletter -- Issue #4
Instant Power - a five minute "mind flip"
In his book "Influence - the Psychology of Persuasion", Robert Cialdini says
that one of the most powerful influences on our behaviour is something called
"reciprocity".
Reciprocity is the feeling of obligation to repay something that has been
given to us.
As Cialdini points out ... the reason this obligation, this feeling of debt
is absolutely essential to the survival of 'society', is because without the
assurance that a favour will be returned, I have no motivation or reason to
give a favour or an item of value to someone else.
Without this motivation there is no co-operation, no trade, no barter
and no exhange. In short, no society.
So reciprocity is a very powerfull motivator for people's behaviour.
There are many ways to manipulate or 'cheat-the-system' of reciprocity, but
they are not worth pursuing as long term strategies, so I won't mention them
here.
However there is one incredibly powerful long-term'reciprocity' strategy that
will instantaneously and powerfully change the way you deal with people
....which you will learn in just a minute ....but before we get to that, you
need to ask yourself an important question..
What is the most valuable thing you have?
Is it your stereo system?
Your car?
The money in your bank account?
The cash in your wallet?
No, it's none of those things....
It's not your money. There is no practical limit to how much money you can have.
It's just a number in a computer database owned by a bank somewhere
And it's not gold or diamonds or any other precious substance. Most
'precious minerals' have no practical use in your possesion anyway. Gold can't
be eaten, doesn't burn, is too soft for building anything usefull (except
electronics), and would be very uncomfortable as a mattress.
And it's not your car, or your house or any other material thing, because with
an almost infinite amount of money, there is no real practical limit to how
many material things you could buy, or ever get to use.
And it's not land. You could own every piece of dry land on earth, and still
not get to see all of it before you die.
And it's not a company either (if you have one). You could own a million
companies and there would still be a million more.
The most valuable thing you will ever have, the only thing that you will
never have enough of is
TIME!
Yes, every minute that ticks away is a minute lost, one that will never return
to you. Which is not to say you should mourn the passing of time, no, quite the
opposite, you should treasure every minute!.
And so every minute that you spend with someone whose company you do not value,
is a precious gift to them, a gift which they should repay you with something of
value. Be it money, goods, sex, or some valuable information, or even THEIR time
they owe it to you because you have already given them the most valuable
thing you have!
So the next time someone asks you for some of your time, and it is NOT
someone whose company you cherish, who does not fill you with joy by their
very presence, then you must find out what will they give you before you
give them even one minute of your precious life.
And if what they have to offer is of little or no value to you, then simply
tell them "No, I can't meet you/talk with you/listen to you as I haven't got
time."
Now, will this make some people angry? Yes. Has their anger got anything to
do with you? No, it does not. They asked for something of value, but were not
willing to give something of value in return.
Their anger is simply a measure of their laziness. They give nothing, and
expect people to grant them a living, because they are 'human' or a 'person'.
Well, here's the news my friend, we are all people, we are all human,
and none of us has a minute to waste on people who add no joy, happiness
or value to our lives.
